File Collection
We collect recordings and audio/video files on behalf of the customer from:
- Labour Court, High Court, Magistrate’s Court.
- CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
- Client premises.
Secure and Confidential
Storage and transfer of your transcriptions comply with strict confidentiality and security. Delivery of hard copies of recordings where required.
Recording
Recording of any meeting, hearing, training session, interview etc. on behalf of our customers using our own recording equipment.
Translate

About us
Professional Transcribing Services
ACS is owned by Stefan Hill and Elco Geldenhuys, two practising attorneys with years of legal experience in civil and employment law. Recognising that businesses in the private and public sector, all spheres of government, as well as attorneys and their clients, regularly require the services of businesses who offer transcription work, we decided to start an independent enterprise, specialising in, but not limited to, the transcription of disciplinary hearings, arbitration proceedings, meetings and court work.
As ACS was incorporated in late 2021, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, we realised that the traditional approaches to this type of work resulted in unnecessary running costs, a cost usually borne by the customer. By streamlining our business model and keeping our running costs at an absolute minimum, customers are able to benefit from significantly reduced service rates compared to other service providers in the market. Changing our way of thinking about how a business should run, we are able to deliver impeccable work to satisfied customers at affordable and highly competitive rates and with excellent turnaround times.
The members of our panel of transcribers are fluent in English and Afrikaans. In addition to transcribing of audio and video files, ACS can also facilitate a service for translation between these languages.
ACS further offers customers the service of in-person video and audio recording of meetings, hearings, training sessions where this may be required.
What does a Transcriber do?
Quality Guaranteed
A transcriber is an individual who possesses excellent word processing and typing skill and speed, who listens to an audio or video recording and types what they hear into a written document, creating a verbatim record of what was contained in the audio or video file.
It would ordinarily take a seasoned transcriber approximately 4 – 5 hours to transcribe 1 hour of audio. Accuracy is of paramount importance and non-negotiable and every piece of word product will include a certification by the transcriber that insofar as the audio was audible, they certify that the transcript is accurate and complete.
Every transcript is thoroughly proofread for spelling and grammar and any court guidelines are complied with in relation to margins, word and line spacing as well as word or line counting.

Rates & Services
Transcription is charged per hour.
Upon receipt of the audio/video file, our transcribers estimate, as accurately as possible, the number of hours that it will take them to transcribe an audio or video file. ACS then provides the customer with an estimate quote, prior to transcription work commencing upon quote acceptance.
The quality and nature of the recording may influence the final transcription time.
As an additional service, we collect audio recordings from the customer or the relevant court or other forum.
A word and PDF version of the completed recording will be sent to the customer upon completion.
Hard copies of the transcript may be requested at an additional charge.
We offer various turn-around times:
14 – 21 days processing time (standard)
7 – 14 days (urgent)
24 hours – 6 days (extremely urgent)
